What is a trademark opposition, and how does LogoVerify use TTAB records?

A trademark opposition is a proceeding at the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) in which the owner of an existing mark asks the Board to refuse a published application, normally within 30 days of publication. LogoVerify reads the public TTAB filing records to show how many applications each owner has opposed — a count of filings, never a characterisation of who was right or how a case ended. Use it to gauge how actively an owner defends a name; it is general information, not legal advice.
